Let It Out 06:38
I used to stare up at the ceiling And think about how I’d never get another moment I can’t go back there Spent too much time in my life kneeling Looking for a sign And only found others looking too Now I begin to work on healing Go slow it takes time And although I don’t have the answers I know I’ll get there It seems like such a distant feeling Fading slowly by It hardly feels like a memory Whenever I look At the life that I’m living Everything seems so removed from now And all that I want ’s to let it out Open up Unafraid and truly I feel like things are getting better Each day I see now We lost some years we lost some battles I won’t go back there Express myself down to the letter Showing who I am And no concern what they think of me We are all living works in progress Forgive forget it Try not to suffer slings and arrows Let go of perfect It is a complicated process Finding happiness Not letting time get away from you Whenever I looked At the life I was living Everything seemed so removed from now And all that I want ’s to let it out Open up Unafraid and truly

Interwoven 06:34
Breath drawing inward, flowing outward Life giving power, never seen All living beings, interwoven Connected through the air we breathe Sun giving daylight, warm and gentle Felt by all creatures, great and small All living beings, interwoven Connected through the light of day Through our lives, we can grow to learn Who we are, how to find the joy ourselves And from there, we can share our joy With those we know, and with all the world ask May we all find joy May we all find our love Drink from the waters, so refreshing Rivers and oceans, bridging worlds All living beings, interwoven Connected through the water wide

One pair Separate souls Overtaken by A time unsparing Two chairs Yellow bold Sitting side by side A perfect pairing Three hours Alone and cold ‘Cross a long divide Emotions wearing Four walls Truths unfold Open hearts provide A cure Five words Through it all Even teary eyed Return our bearing We grow Evermore Making inner peace Our guide

Moon Ball 05:02
When the sun reappears Pluck the moon from the sky And hold it tightly in your hand We can play again Throw it far far away And I’ll carry it back Then we can do it all again Living a life without concern No condition To our love spending our Lives together’s Shown me joy When the sun reappears Pluck the moon from the sky And hold it tightly in your hand We can play again Throw it far far away And I’ll carry it back Then we can do it all again Joy is a life without concern

about

I wrote this EP in May of 2023 as sort of an addendum to my previous album "I'll Meet You There." I felt like I had a little more to say on the subjects I explored in those compositions, and a new perspective on that period of my life that only time can provide.

This collection of four songs are inspired by the four brahmaviharas.

The first track explores my journey with compassion, especially my struggles with self-love and mental health.

The second track is a loving-kindness meditation, sending wishes of loving-kindness to all things, and appreciating their interconnectedness.

The third track is my re-approach to the subject of equanimity, recognizing the dissonances and challenges of life, but striving for understanding and peace of mind through them.

The final track is all about joy, and specifically about my dog Jasper who embodies joy more than any other animal or person I've ever met. Nothing brings Jasper more joy than playing fetch, and he'll always want to play without stopping until his legs can't hold him up anymore. He's a great reminder of joy and I am truly a better person because of his presence in my life.
